Installation Notes

  1. Strict Cleanliness: Before removing the old seal, clean the surrounding area with a solvent. Even a single grain of sand on the MQ6-56333-3258 seating groove will cause a high-pressure leak.
  2. The "Lube" Rule: Never install this O-ring dry. Apply a thin coating of the fluid the seal will be contacting (e.g., if it's an oil seal, use clean engine oil) to allow it to slide into place without rolling.
  3. Inspect for "Twist": Once seated, run your finger along the circumference. If the O-ring feels "wavy" or twisted, remove and re-seat it. A twisted O-ring will shear as soon as the engine builds pressure.
  4. Avoid Sharp Tools: Never use a screwdriver to pry the new seal into place. Use a dedicated plastic O-ring pick to avoid scoring the metal housing.
  5. One-Time Use: O-rings develop a "set" (shape) once compressed under heat. Never reuse the MQ6-56333-3258 once the housing has been disassembled; always replace with new genuine howo parts.
