Installation Notes

For a smooth installation process, follow these general guidelines. Always refer to the specific Sinotruk HOWO service manual for detailed instructions and official torque specifications.

1.  Safety First: Ensure the engine and exhaust system are completely cool before starting any work. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) like gloves and safety glasses.

2.  Gain Access: You may need to raise the vehicle securely using jack stands to comfortably access the underbody and the rear section of the exhaust system.

3.  Remove the Old Shield: Unbolt and carefully remove the old or damaged heat shield. Take note of the positioning and any specific mounting brackets.

4.  Surface Preparation: Thoroughly clean the mounting points on the vehicle's underbody or exhaust pipe to ensure a clean surface for the new shield.

5.  Install New Shield: Position the new VG1246110111 heat shield correctly, aligning it with the mounting holes.

6.  Secure with New Hardware: It is highly recommended to use new mounting bolts and nuts to secure the heat shield. This prevents issues with seized or fatigued old hardware and ensures a secure, rattle-free fit.

7.  Final Check: Ensure the shield is firmly mounted and there is no contact with moving parts. Start the vehicle and briefly run the engine to check for any unusual vibrations or noises.
