Installation Notes

  • Disconnect the battery negative terminal before starting work.
  • Locate the belt tensioner (spring-loaded or manually adjusted depending on engine variant); relieve tension carefully using the appropriate breaker bar or tensioner tool.
  • Remove the old belt and note the routing diagram—if missing, photograph or sketch it before removal.
  • Inspect all pulleys (crankshaft, compressor, idler, tensioner) for worn grooves, burrs or seized bearings; replace damaged pulleys before fitting the new belt.
  • Route the new 8104930E886 belt exactly per the diagram, ensuring each rib/groove seats fully—misalignment causes rapid edge wear.
  • Slowly release the tensioner to apply proper tension; the belt should deflect approx. 8–12 mm under moderate thumb pressure on the longest unsupported span (verify with your service manual).
  • Start the engine briefly and visually check for belt flutter or chirp; re-check tension after the first 500 km of operation.
  • Recommended practice: replace the belt tensioner and idler pulley together if the vehicle has exceeded 100,000 km.
